The History of CCI

CCI’s founders, James Klungness and Charles Henry, began their cable television careers in 1955 with the development of a Community Access Television System (CATV) in Iron Mountain, Michigan.  This system expanded over the next 30 years.

As CCI designed and built the cable systems, they gained enough experience and knowledge to become an industry leader in the design, construction, and maintenance of broadband communications systems.  As the broadband industry grew, CCI became known as the expert rollouts of new technologies.  This tradition of high standards and excellence of execution still remains today.

In 1985 the owners of the company formed an ESOP and sold the company to its employees.  CCI believes that being an ESOP Company carries on the entrepreneurial and technological spirit that founded CCI over 50 years ago.  The employee owners of CCI eagerly take up challenges of today’s converging industries by deploying the latest in advanced optical, network, and broadband services to an ever expanding clientel base. 

CCI’s products and services are available on a turnkey or labor only basis.  For the customers who desire a more limited contractual arrangement, products or services are available as a complete project package or as individual services.  We strive to be the best in the business and can modify any product or service offered to fit your company’s needs.  Building strong customer relationships is what CCI has been working to achieve for over 50 years.
