Not just any Utility Map will do. In today's technologically advancing telecommunication world, the importance of accurate and effective utility maps is critical to your engineering, maintenance and construction process. At CCI we've developed a reliable process using a Global Positional System (GPS), Geographic Information System (GIS) and customized CAD software and system utility management software packages to give you precision and adaptability.

GPS Landbase

GPS equipment offers submeter accuracy to generate highly accurate base maps displaying various land base features including streets, street name, road type, waterway and railroad crossings. Using commercial and customized CAD software, we are able to apply custom offsets such as pavement width or right-of-way.

We use hand-held data collectors and lasers for documenting the following information:

• Poles - location, size, class, attachments
• Streetlights - type of globe, type of bulb, size
• Meter - meter number
• Transformer - KVA, number
• Pad Mount Transformer - size, number
• Fuses, Reclosers
• Switches - type, status
• Cabinets & Splice Boxes

GPS Field Inventory

This data is automatically transferred into CADbased mapping software for placement on the land base. Maps are then plotted and sent out to field staff for identification of conductor type and phase, switching status, open points, transformer districts, secondary wire, service type and location.

Utility Mapping When field inventory is complete, we begin the process of modeling the information into a GIS software package to establish connectivity, provide an error-free database and ensure proper graphic representation of the information collected. The combination of GPS fielding equipment and GIS mapping software enables us to produce distribution maps with accuracy and intelligence. Our seasoned and technically competent engineers, drafters, field technicians and construction experts run a quality process and timely delivery.
