Quality Control

Our goal is to provide our customers with the highest quality maps available. To insure accuracy, we follow a rigorous QC process both in the field and in the office.

Base Mapping

The preparation of base maps may require the use of one or more base mapping sources including USGS topographical information in a Digital Line Graph (DGL) format, tiger files, ETAK files, tax maps or use of Global Positioning System (GPS). We’re experienced in using all sources.

CAD Drafting

CCI’s in-house drafting staff includes a team of CAD operators skilled in AutoCAD(Spatial for GIS applications), Microstation (Focus) and ESRI. We can conform to any symbol library and layering scheme using either SCTE or your own corporate drafting standards.

GIS Modeling

If you are interested in a state-of-the-art GIS system we can help you with that as well. We have a great deal of experience working with both AutoCAD and ESRI GIS applications. This will allow you to manage you fiber optics and generate reports as never before. Imagine your mapping system being linked to your billing system or your outage analysis system. This is the future of mapping.

Fielding

An accurate set of maps is a critical component of your plant’s operations and the design process. Beginning with an on-site startup meeting with you, we have developed standards to ensure accurate mapping. They include:

  • Completion of a comprehensive fielding and mapping analysis
  • Color Coding field notes for reading ease
  • Use of templates for clarity and to minimize errors in translating field notes
  • On-site supervision through map review and regularly scheduled customer meetings
  • Traditional fielding and use of Global Positioning Systems (GPS) to achieve consistent sub-meter accuracy.

Quality Control

Before you receive final maps, all maps are cycled through a multi-stage quality control process. This insures you the customer, an accurate final product
